- I just signed up and can't login
We realize that this can be a frustrating occurrence for our customers. Typically, it has one of two causes. First, the email address has not been confirmed. The second cause is usually password-related.
Your email address has to be confirmed before you can login to the site. This is done by sending an email to your address with a special link that, when clicked, lets us know that you got that specific email. There are many reasons that you may not get the automated email including SPAM filters, internet trolls, and entering your email address incorrectly. If you haven't gotten the confirmation email after a few hours, check any SPAM folders you may have. if you don't see our email in there, contact us for assistance.
The second issue, password problems, usually is solved by resetting your password through this link: https://codeupdate4u.com/courses/login/forgot_password.php. Enter either your username or email address into the appropriate fields and click the button. Check your email inbox for an link that will allow you to reset your password. If that procedure does not work, contact us for assistance.

Taking the Course
- How Long Do I Have to Complete the Course?
You have 30 days from the time you enroll to complete the course. You can signup and take it all in one evening or spread it over the entire month, if you want. Should some exceptional circumstances prevent you from completing the course(s) in the allotted time, contact us and we'll reset the timer. We want to see you pass the course and we will work with you!

- Is there a Time Limit on the Course?
You must complete the course within 30 days of signing up for it; however, we will work with you should there be circumstances that make this impossible.
DPOR does require that the Code Update classes be 1 hour in length for Fuel Gas and 3 hours in length for Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical. Therefore, you must spend a minimum of 50 minutes reviewing the course material for each hour the course is scheduled (10 minutes per hour are allotted for breaks). This time requirement must be met prior to being issued your course completion certificate.

Course Completion and Reporting
- How do I finish the course?
-
To finish the course, you must be in the instructional lessons (the ones called Hour 1, Hour 2, etc) for at least 50 minutes each. You must then complete the course test and click on the course completion certificate (this is very important!!). Once your certificate is generated, save it to your computer or print it out for your records. The certificate means that you have successfully passed the course and we must have that certificate generated in order to report you to DPOR. After that, your work is done! We report to DPOR every Monday morning as well as the first day of every month, but you can contact us to request that we report more frequently. Also, you should be able to use that course completion certificate to prove to DPOR that your training requirement has been satisfied.

- How often do you report to DPOR?
We report to weekly to DPOR, every Monday morning. We will send in your results at other times if you request it; please contact us for details.
Please allow 7-10 days for the report to make it all the way through our system as well as DPOR's; waiting until the last minute may not allow enough time to process and you may have to show proof of course completion to DPOR to prevent a lapse in licensure.

- I have to take three different courses. Do I need to take them all at once, or one at a time?
- You can take each class at your leisure, spanning multiple weeks/reporting periods. DPOR will log the results of your completion and, when time comes for you to renew, they will be waiting for you. Taking this course is only a prerequisite for your tradesman license and does not start the process to renew it!
